Helping Children to Love the Dentist

Children aren’t born not liking the dentist. Somehow, somewhere along the line, a dislike creeps in. At Friary Court Dental and Facial Clinic, we want to avoid that.

Our dentists build a relationship with children, working to their sense of curiosity, explaining everything in a friendly environment. The sooner a child comes to see us, the better as they are immediately put at ease. What we’ve found with children is that this sense of comfort that they receive helps with the next visit. The expectation of the next visit is a pleasant experience rather than one of dread.

Maintaining good healthy teeth and good dental practice is key from a young age. At Friary Court Dental and Facial Clinic, we want to prevent problems. We advise on a good routine of dental hygiene, identifying and fixing potential future issues and teaching children to care about their dental health

Some questions that are often asked in particular to Children’s Dentistry

1. What age should children be for their first dental check up?
We recommend that you bring your child in as soon as their first teeth come through.

2. What will I do if my child really has a fear of the dentist?
Bring them to Friary Court Dental and Facial Clinic. Our dentists are passionate about dealing with children and are committed to ensuring all children have the best experience.
